This is a tour focused on ancestral cultures and Benin history. Visits and short trips enable you to discover Benin soul.

Length of the stay: 15 days. Price (not a fixed rate): 1515 Euros.

The program of the stay:

Day 1: Arrival and welcome at the international airport Bernadin Cardinal Gantin at Cotonou and night in an inn.

Day 2: Breakfast and departure for Porto Novo, the political and administrative capital of Benin. Once there, you’ll visit Honmè museum and ethnographic museum. Then Lunch in an African restaurant and lunch break at Songhai center. Visit of the Songhai Center in the afternoon. Dinner and night stay at the center.

Day.3: Breakfast early in the morning, then departure for Ganvié by the jetty of Djassin. Lunch at Ganvié, the lake village followed by a lunch break at the inn. Discovery of the lakeside village and its neighborhood. Dinner and night stay at the inn.

Day.4: Breakfast and discovery the floating market of Ganvié. Then departure for Dassa. Lunch in an African restaurant and relaxation at the hostel. In the afternoon, you’ll go off for a walk in the town of forty-one hills. Dinner and night stay at the hotel.

Day.5: Departure early in the morning for Djougou after breakfast. Arrival at Djougou and lunch in an African restaurant. Break at the hostel followed by a courtesy visit to the King of Djougou in the afternoon. Dinner with the local inhabitants and night in a hostel.

Day.6: Breakfast and departure for the waterfall of Tanongou. Once there, picnic, swimming and relaxation. Then you’ll have an hour walk to get to the place of bivouac. Arrival set up and bivouac.

Day.7: Breakfast early in the morning and hike on the mountain. Descent to the village of Tanongou and debate and discussion with the local inhabitants. Lunch at the waterfall, and then you’ll be heading to the wildlife reserve of Pendjari. Stopover at Bali pool. Departure for the Pendjari hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day.8: Breakfast early in the morning and departure for tours in the nature reserve with the hope to make animal encounters. Stopover at Bali pond and picnic. After the lunch, you’ll be heading to the Somba land. Discoveries of tatas Samba. Arrival at the camp. Dinner and bivouac.

Day.9: Breakfast followed by a hiking on the undulating plains of Koutagou. Exchange with Samba people and return to camp. Lunch. Lunch break and visit to the city border with Togo: Boukoumbé. Back to the camp. Dinner and night.

Day.10: Breakfast, then departure for Natitingou. Arrival and discovery of the popular museum of Natitingou. Lunch and evening time free for everybody. Dinner and night at a hostel.

Day.11: Breakfast early in the morning and departure for the historic city of Abomey. Arrival and lunch in an African restaurant. Lunch break at a hostel. Then, you’ll be visiting the historical museum and coupled with a danxome trail. You’ll discover a voodoo temple. Once back to the hostel, you’ll have dinner and then spend the night at the hostel.

Day.12: Breakfast and further discovery of Abomey in search of the last remnants of the olden palaces: walls and fortification ditches. Lunch and departure for Possotomé via Lokossa. Arrival and night in a hotel.

Day.13: Breakfast and departure for Grand-Popo. Discover the Mouth of the river Mono. Then, you’ll be lazing around the sea. Back to Possotomé, you’ll have your dinner and spend the night at the hotel.

Day.14: Breakfast and drive to Ouidah. Arrival and 3Km walk in the footsteps of slaves alongside the Slave Road to the Door of No Return. You’ll then lunch in an African restaurant and visit the Temple of Pythons. In the evening time is free. After dinner, you’ll spend the night in a hostel.

Day.15: Breakfast early in the morning and departure for Cotonou going along the fisher’s road. With a bit of luck, you will see fishermen at work! Once you get to Cotonou, you’ll have lunch in an African restaurant then discovery of craft center and city trail will end the stay: boarding at the airport of Cotonou.
