Length of the stay: 10 days, in December, during the carnival. Price (not a fixed rate): 1080 Euros.

Program of the stay:

Day 1 – Arrival at Cotonou and night in a hostel.

Day 2 – Breakfast, then resettlement in Ouidah followed by a visit of the place where the festival will be held. Once in Ouidah, there will be the carnival blessing ceremony at “chacha” place and ritual in honor of deported slaves by the traditional and religious leaders. Lunch followed by the great carnival of Kaléta of Bourihans which starts from the Arts Center via the City Council, the French fortress, Zobe market, and ends at the public esplanade of Pythons Temple. Evening showing film.

Day 3 – After breakfast, visit the Temple of Pythons, then discover craft workshops. You’ll have the opportunity to take part in the wise and notables of Ouidah’s consultation. After a lunch break, the first qualifying stage of “kaleta” groups will begin. Then theater performance will take place!

Day 4 – You’ll discover the Bouriane in full demonstration and dressed in their finest carnival costumes. Then will follow a performance of Women cultural association of Ouidah. In the afternoon we have the second round of qualifying stage Kaléta groups will be held.

Day 5 – Visit of the museum of history of Ouidah, and the sacred forest called Kpassè, followed by bamboo dance called “Dawéhoun which will end the festival activities.

Day 6 to 9: Trips through Ouidah, Grand Popo and Possotomé to meet the varied dishes like Dakoin and many others discoveries.

Day 10: In the afternoon, back to Cotonou and boarding at the airport.
